Library Advisory Board

The Sussex County Library Advisory Board was created under Title 9, Chapter 8, Section 802 of the Delaware Code and in Chapter 20 of the County Code.

The role of the Advisory Board is to:

• Serve in an advisory capacity to the County Library Administrator and the County Library Agency.
• Bring local library needs to their attention and shall recommend to them means for implementation of an effective county library system.
• Through its members on the Council on Libraries, bring library matters to the attention of the Administrator of State Library Services.
• One board member is appointed for each District. Each member serves a three-year term. Members may serve no more than two consecutive terms.
