Greenwood Community Health & Safety Day

The Greenwood Public Library invites you to its very first Community Health & Safety Day on Saturday, September 18th from 9:00am to 12:00 noon. This event is completely free and offers activities for all ages.

  • Kids can bring or borrow bikes and helmets to take part in DelDOT’s bike rodeo, check out fire trucks and police cars, and get their face painted.
  • The police department will also be offering car seat safety checks.
  • Dental screenings will be available for all ages, and due to limited time slots, appointments can be made in advance at the library.
  • Sussex EMS will demonstrate hands-only CPR and Stop the Bleed techniques as well as provide Covid testing and vaccinations.
  • There will be giveaways and informative presentations about fall prevention, child development, home energy savings, Delaware Emergency Management Agency, Greenwood VFW, home security, Beebe Health screenings and more.
  • Hot dogs and waters will be provided and a bake sale will be available!
  • There will also be a small book sale in the library.

The library’s parking lots and Mill Street will be closed to make this event possible, but other parking is available on surrounding streets nearby. Activities will be held mostly outside, with some activities inside the library in the meeting room. For more information, please call (302) 855-124
